‘Ecos en movimiento’ reinterprets a very real and concrete nature through audiovisual technological means. These digital tools function as mediators and interpreters of the natural places around me, transporting them to another reality and facilitating interaction with other, more distant audiences. From 3D scans and sound recordings of these sets, a new hybrid nature is combined and constructed that allows us to observe and imagine from other perspectives.
What does it mean to build digital worlds when the real world is falling apart? Is it possible to turn Instagram into a more pleasant place where we can navigate a hybrid nature that glides across our screens? Can technology serve as a bridge to a deeper appreciation of nature and its temporal dynamics? Through abstractions and interpretations of the natural environments around me, digital assemblages are fabricated that blend 3D and sound information to translate physical nature into a virtual territory, with the aim of knowing it from a distance and creating other non-biophilic aesthetics. The use of digital tools arises from a personal search for a creative process that fuses the most natural with current technological languages, and also contributes to a constant learning process of 3D and sound design. Moreover, this involves an exercise of digital embalming of an exact moment of the natural state. A new scene that constructs itself and comes to exist solely in the virtual world, extending beyond its own physicality.
The art piece consists of three different videos of 5min long each with 3 different audio tracks. It was exhibited in the collective exhibition 'De la realidad al sueño', curated by inizia.zone as part of the 2024 Mayrit Bienale of Architecture and Design in Madrid.
